Brake lines, master cylinder, battery-related...

Time to remove the old master cylinder

Brake hoses are very old & cracking. Blew air through the brake lines to clear any debris

The 200 psi air compressor worked well for this

Caught the debris & old brake fluid at the rear hoses

Fuel pump may need replacing. We cleaned it up and we'll check for leaks once we're further along.

Battery tray is very rusty

We'll need to order a new one, as it's beyond saving

Picked up the new AC-Delco battery

Got the rest of the wheels off...

Removed all the old brake shoes & springs

Pulled the distributor & noticed we need a new rotor

Onto the new gas tank install...

Put in the fuel tank straps

Put the fuel tank up into place

Added the new fuel neck & gasket

Inserted the overflow boot

Crossmember installed

Installed the sending unit

Sending unit, electrical hookups, rear fuel hose, overflow hose all installed.

The work continues...

 

Spent some time on the carburetor today...

Our current ToDo list

I was checking the DOT stampings on the tires

Noticed that a body bolt was missing (inside/rear driver seat)

Also spent some time on the gas tank straps (very rusty)

Knocked down that rust, sanded them down, and put some fresh semi-gloss black paint on them.

Freshly painted.  Nice.

Put in a little Marvel Mystery Oil

Did an oil change as well

New filter
